Hello Fellow Fliers,
Our last indoor meeting for this winter/spring season is this next Monday, April 4th. You might remember it because it is the day before my birthday, April 5th. This gives you just a few days to find that special thing at Cobblestone for a gift….wink, wink, nod, nod.
Where do you go for the meeting? You can find the information and map on our website at the very top center of the home page. Go to this link: http://www.tulipcityairforce.com there is a link to a map and the address. Many of you already know the location but here it is for the new members: 1464 Ottawa Beach Rd, Holland, MI – The Old Parktownship Maintenance Bldg. Our meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more about the club. You don’t have to be a member to join us…in fact we welcome your attendance.
Please go to the website and read last months minutes and while your there watch a video as a Beaver bites the dust. Terry Mull has officially opened the field again this season….crazy, very, very crazy. I only need to look at my indoor/outdoor thermometer to know its too dang cold to fly.
There will undoubtedly be some people Monday night reporting on their experiences at the Toledo Weak Signals Show at the Seagate Center Friday and Saturday. I know of at least 9 or so of us going to see what’s new and maybe take an opportunity of some of the show specials.
I for one am anxious to see the new XPS (Extreme Power Systems) 16 Channel 2.4 transmitter making its debut at this show. You can read about it in your latest edition of ‘Model Aviation‘ and a whole lot more on line. The price is claimed to be around $249 with a fistful of features. If this transmitter does what the designers claim it will change the lay of the land in the radio control industry. With its ‘open source’ programing it won’t be long before you can find apps available to tweak the transmitter to your personal needs and desires. This radio can even speak. Who among us would not want to hear a soft sultry female voice tell us to apply “up elevator” or “more power, more power”, I’m just sayin.
Please try to attend the meeting this Monday evening at 7:00 P.M. Thank you.
Regards,
Larry Weller – TCAF VP
