Auction After the November Meeting

Fellow TCAF Members,

We will be auctioning off RC equipment after the November 9th meeting.

Larry Waters, a former club member come to my house Friday and gave me all his RC equipment. He and his son Andy had given up RC aircraft flying some time back. His request is that the equipment be auctioned off to the membership and the proceeds go to the club. Larry has fond memories of past auctions when members bid at auction on items donated to the club.

Items to be auctioned include: 2 electric foamies with brushed motors, 1 foamie kit, 1 Balsa USA glider kit, 5 FM radio TX’s, many FM receivers, Monocote, flight boxes (2), battery chargers, electric motor, glow engine (over heated needs repair), building equipment, balsa material. All kinds of hardware including wheels, motor mounts push rods, etc. etc. etc. Books and manuals. Lots of other stuff.

So come to the November meeting with lots of cash in your pocket to purchase as many items as you might want. Come early so you can look over the items and plan your bidding strategy. I’m looking forward to seeing a large member turnout for this event.

Thank you Larry for your thoughtfulness and your generosity.

New Member – Patrick Quarteman

TCAF has a new member, Patrick Quarteman who joined us Wednesday July 28th at the field with his new plane.

His new plane, an E-Flite T-34 Mentor was checked over by TCAF members and ultimately flown by Bob Kovacs for the “check ride”.

Please join me in welcoming Patrick to the club.

Dynaflite Big Bird

These are two of my favorite gliders…they are all favorites when I’m flying them. I have converted a number of these, for myself and other people, over to electric to escape the necessity for winch launch . They come as an ARF in the orange and white scheme but I decided to strip one and re-paint the fuselage and redo the covering to suit my taste. The black covering on the bottom makes it much easier to see when it is way high but the white has the clean look I really like. I have fitted split flaps into the bottom of the center section of the wing to make landing in close quarters easy. Larry Weller

Glider Guys

There is a handful of fellows in the club that like gliders. Any kind of gliders. There are a few that have DLG’s in their quiver such as this Blaster gently roaming the skies at dusk. A lot of the flights are 1-2 minutes but then some days 15 minutes is not unusual for a hand-launch.
