Fellow Fliers, I have been cleaning my shed in order to store more easily my gas airplanes, I came across this new charger that I have not used, because I have a second one that I do use especially at the Civic Center during winter months. EBay sells them for around forty dollars and hobby centers a bit more. I will sell it with the ac adapter for $20.00. call me 616 481-1804. See picture

I regret to inform you that former member Bill Rowan passed away this week. He was the ripe old age of 92. He flew and helped around the club until he was 87 years old. May he now enjoy eternal calm winds and blue skies.

Jim reports that he has arranged indoor flying at the Holland Civic Center again this year!

Flying will be Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00AM – 11:00AM and can start tomorrow.

Today, Monday the 10 th of September I had the pleasure of putting the first two flights on my newly acquired and prepared Christian Eagle. It is the Great Planes Giant Scale Eagle II. It is powered by a near new DA 50. It has six Futuba 9020 servos, 1 Hitec high torque for Rudder, and 2 cheaper standard Futuba for throttle and choke. I have added a ExelRC optical kill switch, and it has TME smart smoke pump, hope try that tomorrow. I put in two flights, after a bit of trimming after first take off, and extending the range of my sight, (thanks Bob for being my eyes for a few moments while trimming), it settled into a fine flying machine. The landing went well, how be it, with one bounce before settling safely to the earth.
The second flight was used to try many maneuvers to see how it handled them, all very well. The second landing, did not bounce but was quite hot, I will have to learn to trust it to slow down more. Really a joy to fly.
The plane was previously owned and flown about ten times before I obtained it.

Thanks to everyone that came out and brought food last night. I think there were many full bellies after the event, at least I needed to let one notch out on my belt. It has been another wonderful summer of flying with great food and conversation. As the days become shorter and temperature cooler get to the field as much as you can as the white stuff will be falling sooner than you think. Take a look at the pictures from the cook out!
